Elect leaders who are kind and respect others

As your Representative, I will be your independent voice at the State House. I will always work towards women's health care services and never use out of state extreme undemocratic policy creating organizations to tell me what to do and what legislation to support. Affordable quality health care, clean water, breathable air, conserved land, the end of fossil fules for the production of electricity and a healthy environment are issues that I have championed for over 30 years. I am running for state Representative and I'm running for you. I toured the state building coalitions against the power plant. I was the only one to educate hundreds all across Rhode Island, and into nearby Connecticut and Massachusetts about the power plant asking for their support in our fight. Along with the Burrillville Land Trust we are trying to Save Sweet's Hill and we are allies for all who call this place home.

This campaign is about giving a voice to those who lack one. Our campaign will focus on:

  • An economy where no one is left behind - in a green economy where jobs will be plentiful in installation, retrofitting, efficiency programs, engineering and more

  • A health care system that provides community health care for anyone that wants it - and that includes anyone in need of health care services

  • Transforming our electrical - making sure that RI Energy lives up to their promises

  • Reducing our energy needs - eliminating caps for small business energy efficiency programs, reduce fossil fuel use, reduce emissions that cause asthma, eliminating sacrifice zones

  • Recognizing the impacts of climate change and acting on it - Moving the EC4 into inter-agency programs that reduced waste, procure sustainable products and work on resiliency programs

  • Rhode Island can be a leader in offshore and on-shore wind energy, solar car-ports, healthy and energy efficient homes

  • Valuing the importance of forests - their economic, scenic, recreational value is paramount for a healthy society and ecosystem

  • Healthy homes and a healthy environment - I have worked to educate contractors on the impacts of lead-based paint; promoting healthy foods, local agriculture, farmers’ markets all over Rhode Island; opposing power plants, fracked gas pipelines and LNG facilities which have no place in our state and in our future

  • Strengthening our sense of place - increasing the amount of recreational, agriculture and open space lands, preserving our forests, increasing local control over local land use issues

  • Securing our water supply -protecting the land around the Scituate Reservoir. Public drinking water should never be sold to multinational corporations.

  • Balancing our budget - Securing a line item veto, reducing corporate taxes, reducing the budget for our part time legislature

  • No one should go hungry or be homeless - I will work with all agencies to end hunger and homelessness

  • Making sure that all who are disabled get what they need to live healthy robust lives

  • Changing zoning to allow in-law and working family apartments, “tiny home” ownership and other living arrangements

We can only do this if we all work together. I am a grass roots organizer focused on unity and recognize the importance of all you live in our state. We need our leaders to be strong, to tell the truth, to give bold new approaches in health care, job creation, the environment and removing barriers between all in Rhode Island and our elected leaders. I'm that leader.
